Marketing Manager/Sales Manager -Off Sundays- $20-$23 hr

Summary/Objective

The DISTRICT MANAGER for Rent-A-Center demonstrates the highest quality of leadership in motivating Store Managers and Team Members to personal and corporate success. The District Manager effectively communicates the company’s business expectations and drives results through impactful coaching and development to achieve maximum productivity. The District Manager supports the company culture and commitment to a diverse workforce through the attraction, training, development, and retention of quality Team Members and accomplishes these in a way that is consistent with the RAC mission statement and core values.

Essential Functions

Sales/ Account Management:

1. Achieve planned results for sales as set by the company through flawless execution of the High Five program and Sales Observation and Coaching Guides

2. Achieve planned gross profit for district

3. Provide leadership, monitoring, and training required to ensure stores comply with established procedures and practices for collections

4. Achieve credit and collection targets as set by the company using the Account Management Observation and Coaching Guides

Leadership:

1. Ensure timely and effective execution and compliance of all company programs, policies, and processes

2. Ensure timely and quality staffing of stores through approved employment practices, compliance with company policies and legal requirements, and support of the company’s commitment to maintain a diverse workforce

3. Ensure effective training and development for all Store Managers and Team Members in the district. Maintain individual development records to monitor Coworkers’ performance and the number and quality of promotable Team Members in the district

4. Maximize retention of Store Managers and all district Coworkers; demonstrate continual improvement in reducing turnover and Team Member complaints by establishing and maintaining a positive and productive work environment

5. Demonstrate through example, a commitment to exceptional customer service.

6. Provide leadership and management to ensure all stores' merchandising, cleanliness, and overall appearance comply with company programs and present the best possible appearance to the customer

7. Protect company assets through flawless execution of audits, inventory control, and expense management

Required Education and Experience

• 5 – 7 years of retail/management experience

• Completion of RAC’s District Manager Development Program

• Demonstrated ability to perform all essential job functions at the Store Manager level

• Computer literacy/proficiency in store operation applications

• Valid state driver’s license and good driving record

Preferences

Ideally, a candidate for a Rent-A-Center DISTRICT MANAGER displays skills in:

• Leadership, to keep Team Members motivated, resolve conflicts, and make hard decisions; to hire new Store Managers and full time Team Members, and be a good judge of character to ensure the company hires the right people to maintain an efficient and motivated team. A successful District Manager is a capable leader

• Time Management, to work with and visit multiple stores and managers across a large market, District Managers have to handle a wide and varied workload, and effectively schedule their weeks. Time management is essential to ensure successful completion of all tasks and responsibilities.

• Math & Budgeting, to keep and maintain a budget through P&L management. District Managers need to be confident in using math skills to make sure all company resources and expenditures are managed appropriately and accounted for.

• Analytics, District Managers need analytical skills to be able to solve problems that may come up during a typical work day.

• Decision-Making, The District Manager is accountable for all activities within the district. Whether it is dealing with Team Members, management, or vendors, District Managers will be required to make decisions that affect the company. Having the ability to make hard and fast decisions is crucial to the District Manager’s success.

• Speaking & Writing, abilities are required as the District Manager has to do a lot of communicating face-to-face, via email, and over the phone. This might be in front of a group of Team Members, or in a meeting with management. District Managers will be called upon to write reports, development plans, recommendations, and documented support for developmental needs, coaching and terminations. Great verbal communications and writing skills will help in any of these scenarios.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position manages all stores within an assigned market and is responsible for leadership of the Store Managers.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The Team Member must frequently lift and/or move (push/pull) heavy items and merchandise. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and days and hours of work are Monday through Saturday, store open to close hours. This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work, and travel (including overnights).
