STORE MANAGER:
Reports to: DISTRICT MANAGER
Summary/Objective:
One of the most influential roles for Rent-A-Center is the STORE MANAGER position. The Store Manager is responsible for general management of all activities within an assigned store consistent with company policies and the Eclipse RTO’s mission statement. The Store Manager will maximize store revenue and profits through efficient management of all store activities, including the selection, training, and ongoing development of coworkers within the store. The Store Manager will also monitor and oversee customer satisfaction, proper management and protection of company assets, and the development of management talent for future growth of the company and accomplish these in a way that is consistent with Eclipse RTO’s mission statement and core values
Essential Functions:

Set daily, weekly, and monthly goals related to the store’s sales activities, oversee and direct coworkers’ sales activities, approve rental agreements, and monitor planned results for sales as measured by revenue and growth.
Assume the SALES MANAGER role on days where the ‘SAM’ is vacant
Set daily and weekly goals related to the store’s collection activities, oversee and direct coworkers’ collection activities, follow-up on more difficult accounts that require manager intervention, approve customer commitments, monitor and follow-up with coworkers on planned results for collection activities, and provide leadership and training to ensure all coworkers comply with established procedures and practices for collections.
Assume the CREDIT MANAGER role on days where the ‘CAM’ is vacant
Monitor and achieve planned results for profits for the store by effectively managing and directing store resources (manage and control all store expenses).
Oversee and provide effective training & development for all coworkers in the store. Motivate, evaluate, coach, counsel, and develop coworkers, including helping the company identify, train and develop future store managers.
Schedule and organize the daily activities and goals of all coworkers in the store and follow-up with coworkers to adjust schedules as needed and ensure they are on task.
Oversee and follow-up on timely staffing of assigned store, including recruiting, interviewing, and hiring coworkers (interacting with the District Manager and Human Resources), ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements related to hiring, and support the company’s commitment to maintain a diverse workforce.
Maximize retention of coworkers and reduce turnover and coworker complaints by creating a positive and productive work environment.
Manage and direct coworkers to comply with and effectively execute all company programs, policies and processes.
Train, oversee, and monitor coworkers’ commitment to exceptional customer service. Monitor and improve the sales and account management skills of coworkers through training and in-the moment coaching. Resolve problems and complaints quickly to avoid serious problems. Monitor store operations to ensure customer friendly service is consistently provided.
Protect company assets through expense management, overseeing and controlling inventory, product ordering and pricing, cash handling, and store security.
Provide leadership and management to ensure all store’s merchandising, cleanliness, and overall appearance present the best possible appearance to the customer
Required Education and Experience:
Minimum age: 23 Years
3 – 5 years of retail/management experience
Completion of RAC’s Store Manager Development Program
Demonstrated ability to perform all essential job functions at BOTH the SALES Assistant Manager and CREDIT Assistant Manager level
Computer literacy/proficiency in store operation applications
Valid California state driver’s license and good driving record

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position manages all coworkers of the store and is responsible for leadership of the coworkers within its store.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a coworker to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the coworker is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The coworker must frequently lift and/or move (push/pull) heavy items and merchandise. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, typically NO MORE than 50 hours per week and days and hours of work are Monday through Saturday, store open to close hours. This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work.
